A pair of exquisite cufflinks from the Buffalo Nickel of 1913, the first year of issue. The Buffalo Nickel, first released into circulation on March 4, 1913, is composed of copper and nickel. The designer, James Earle Fraser, wanted to create something totally American and decided upon the Buffalo, which was unique and was part of our western states heritage. The Native American Indian also fit right into the designers concept. Fraser claims he used several composites to draw the portrait of the Native American on the obverse of the coin. Each century-old coin clearly shows the 1913 date. Cufflinks are bullet-style closure made of rhodium-plated brass with silver finish. Comes gift boxed with a Certificate of Authenticity.
